    Description

    Role Description: Coordinate the community section of the Women in Science PDX monthly newsletter by connecting with local organizations and sharing relevant events and opportunities.

    Position responsibilities:

    • Connect with Portland-area nonprofits and companies that align with Women in Science PDX’s mission.
    • Reach out to organizations about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
    • Identify events, volunteer positions, and opportunities to feature in the newsletter.
    • Draft and edit short event and opportunity descriptions.
    • Work with the Communications Committee to coordinate graphics.
    • Make sure event details, descriptions, and graphics are accurate and included in the newsletter on time.
    • Attend monthly Community Engagement Committee meetings.
