Description
We are seeking a patient, encouraging, and reliable Adult Education Math Tutor to work one-on-one with this resident. You do not need to be a former math professor—you just need a solid grasp of foundational math and the ability to explain it clearly without judgment. Going back to school or taking an exam as an adult can be intimidating, so your biggest job will be building their confidence!
Key Responsibilities
- One-on-One Tutoring: Lead focused study sessions specifically covering fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Test Prep Support: Walk through practice problems, explain the "why" behind the math, and provide helpful test-taking strategies.
- Encouragement: Create a supportive, stress-free learning environment for an adult who may have been out of a traditional classroom for a long time.
What We Are Looking For
- Comfortable and confident in teaching basic math (fractions, decimals, and percentages).
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to break down concepts into simple, real-world examples.
