    Description

    About LandSeed

LandSeed is a non-profit organization tackling the Canadian housing crisis with a unique, data-powered approach. We bridge critical gaps in the housing ecosystem by integrating deep community market data with advanced AI systems. Our focus is on crowdsourcing and identifying obstacles to attainable affordable housing, allowing us to deliver structured, scalable solutions where they are needed most.

Our Commitment: We are driven to uplift those in housing ownership need, including first-time homebuyers, seniors, immigrants, single parents, environmentalists, veterans, and individuals with disabilities. Our vision is to pioneer data-driven designs and value structures for entry-level housing across Canada.

    Job description

LandSeed is seeking a senior partnerships and alliances leader to help shape, cultivate, and steward long-term, mission-aligned relationships across housing, community development, academia, technology, and the public sector. This role is designed for someone in a later stage of their career — near retirement, semi-retired, or post–full-time executive work — who wants to apply their experience, networks, and judgment toward work with real social impact. This is a strategic, relationship-driven role with real influence over who we partner with and how those partnerships evolve.

    Our Working Context

You will be working alongside a small group of experienced executives who have chosen to focus their time and expertise on purposeful, impact-driven work. The culture values trust, clarity, long-term thinking, and collaboration over speed, hierarchy, or transactional growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    Partnership Strategy & Alignment

      • Help define LandSeed’s partnership strategy and priorities
      • Identify and cultivate high-alignment partners (institutions, universities, nonprofits, funders, mission-aligned companies)
      • Advise on where partnerships add value—and where they do not

    Relationship Stewardship

      • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key partners
      • Support conversations that lead to long-term collaboration, not just short-term outcomes
      • Act as a trusted representative of LandSeed in partner-facing discussions

    Internal Coordination

      • Work with leadership, fundraising, and program teams to ensure partnerships are well-integrated
      • Help translate partnership opportunities into clear next steps
      • Support governance, MOUs, or informal agreements as needed

    Growth Path & Leadership

      • Work closely with the Executive Director
      • Help shape how partnerships function within the organization long-term
      • Transition into a paid, salaried or stipend-based leadership role as capacity grows (if mutually desired)

    Who This Role Is For

This role is ideal for someone who:

      • Has 10+ years of experience in partnerships, alliances, business development, or executive leadership
      • Has experience building and sustaining cross-sector relationships
      • Is near retirement, semi-retired, or no longer seeking a full-time executive role, but still values meaningful contribution
      • Brings strong judgment, credibility, and relational intelligence
      • Values long-term impact over transactional outcomes

    What This Role Offers

      • Senior-level influence without full-time pressure
      • Meaningful relationship-building with long-term impact
      • Collaboration with peers who value purpose, trust, and legacy
      • The opportunity to help shape how LandSeed grows and who it grows with

    Expected time commitment

      • ~6–10 hours per week
      • Compensation (initial): Volunteer or stipend-based
      • Growth pathway: Clear transition into a paid leadership role as organizational capacity grows
