    We are seeking an individual that is interested in volunteered at least few hours a month helping in the office with some administrative jobs including but not limited to answering the phone, filing, printing.

    Description

    Volunteers Needed

    Do you have a heart for people? Do you especially enjoy the elderly? Are you looking for ways to reconnect in the community?

    If so, we have opportunities in various locations/areas for you to provide companionship for our patients. Just an hour or two per week makes such a big difference in someone's life.

    Volunteer Positions: We are currently look for the following volunteers: Friendly Visitors and Admin Support

    Companion/Friendly Visitor Volunteer Duties

    • Offers on-site companionship, respite care, letter writing, homemaking chores and errands
    • Donates his/her time to the supportive needs of patients and families who need the assistance, according to the plan of care
    • Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team by providing input into the Plan of Care and team meetings as appropriate
    • Provides needed services to patient/caregivers such as shopping, meal preparation, respite for caregiver and other services agreed upon by Volunteer, Volunteer Coordinator and patient/caregiver

    Administrative/Special Project Volunteer Duties

    • Offers services in the office setting by providing assistance in filing, collating, computer work and production of

    agency mailings

    • Performs special projects such as arts and crafts
    • Provides creative services as agreed upon by the Volunteer and Volunteer Coordinator

    Service Areas: Alleghany, Rock Bridge, Nelson, Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Campbell, Montgomery, Pulaski, Floyd, Franklin, Henry, Pittsylvania
