You decide how much you want to volunteer. Driving a Senior to a doctor is anytime M-F 8:30am-3pm. Shopping can be any day of the week, including weekends. You can volunteer for a few months or a few years. We only serve northeast San Antonio.

Anyone age 21+ can volunteer. You do not have to be part of a group. We take individual volunteers.
Description
Share your Time and Talents
- Driver- Sign up to provide a ride for a senior to a medical appointment. You can drive once a week or once a month - You choose! We only serve northeast San Antonio...those who live east of San Pedro. We pay mileage!!!!
- Shopper - Become a grocery shopper to help seniors get the nutrition they need. Develop a special bond with “your” client.
- Telephone Reassurance - Call a client on a regular basis to make sure he/she is OK.
- Handy Helper - Sign up to be on the call list in case a senior needs a light bulb changed, a faucet tightened, or any other minor home help.
- Office Help - We have a part-time staff so we always need help to answer phones, file, type letters, etc. Sign up to work once weekly or monthly 2-3 hours in the morning or afternoon when you have time.
- Special Projects - If your time is limited, you may be interested in delivering gifts during the Holidays during our Senior Santa delivery, driving a client to Fall Fest, or stuffing newsletters.

Directions
We are located on the grounds of MacArthur Park Lutheran Church. We are in the 1950s redbrick house facing Nacogdoches Rd.
You can come to our office to be interviewed and to drop by and say hello. On assignments, volunteers would actually go out to seniors' home to pick them up and drive them to doctor, or shop for them.

Instructions:
- Call (210-967-6372) or email us (nesavc@sbcglobal.net)! We’ll send you a volunteer application, or you can download one above. Then, schedule an appointment to come in for an interview.
- Establish your own limits of time and areas where you want to serve.
- We conduct a criminal background check on each new volunteer and a DPS driving record review on those who want to be drivers.
- Once approved, you’ll get a badge to wear on assignments.
- We PAY MILEAGE for your round trip driving or shopping for seniors.
