    Description

    Board Member / Volunteer Opportunity

Olancho Aid Foundation, Inc. is strengthening its Board of Directors and seeking strategic leaders who are committed to using their professional expertise in service of inclusive education in Honduras.

Olancho Aid is a U.S. 501(c)(3), Catholic, educational nonprofit building transformative pathways for inclusive education that unite and inspire the Honduran community, igniting growth and fulfillment in mind, body, and spirit. Through our schools and programs in Olancho, Honduras, we work to expand access to quality education, support students with diverse learning needs, and accompany young people as they grow academically, socially, and spiritually.

We are currently seeking volunteer board members with expertise in the following areas:

    Finance & Accounting

We are looking for a strategic financial leader who can provide high-level oversight of budgets, financial reporting, audit processes, compliance, and long-term sustainability. This person will also advise on the development of practical financial systems, controls, dashboards, and reporting tools that help staff and board members make informed decisions.

    Marketing & Communications

We are looking for a communications or marketing leader who can help guide Olancho Aid’s external presence, brand development, messaging, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement. This person will support the development of clear communications systems and strategies that allow a growing organization to share its mission consistently and effectively.

Ideal candidates are collaborative, mission-aligned, and comfortable serving as strategic advisors to nonprofit leadership. We especially value leaders who can translate their expertise into clear guidance for staff and board members who may not have deep experience in finance, marketing, or communications.

Board members serve three-year terms and participate in quarterly board meetings, relevant committee work, long-term planning, and fundraising efforts. Board members are also invited to attend the annual in-person board retreat, typically held in Honduras.

This is a volunteer, unpaid board position. Spanish proficiency and nonprofit experience are welcome but not required.
