    Description

Commitment: Part Time, 3 months (Volunteer basis, with potential for formal engagement)

We are seeking a Safeguarding Support Educator (SSE) to join our homeschooling-hybrid learning program. The role supports a small group of learners within a creative, inclusive, and trauma-informed environment.

The Safeguarding Support Educator helps ensure that every learner feels safe, supported, and valued — especially those navigating diverse emotional or learning needs. The role combines academic support, mentorship, and the promotion of wellbeing and respectful relationships.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support academic learning in literacy, numeracy, and life skills sessions.
    • Co-facilitate afternoon life-skills and reflection circles.
    • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and consistent presence for learners.
    • Observe and report emerging safeguarding or wellbeing concerns to the program lead.
    • Contribute to weekly learner engagement and wellbeing summaries.
    • Collaborate closely with the education team to ensure holistic learner support.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum academic qualification: Degree in Education.
    • Experience in child protection, counselling, or community development.
    • Demonstrated commitment to learner safety, inclusion, and wellbeing.
    • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
    • Available on-site for daily sessions with learners.

    Duration & Support

This is a 3-month unpaid volunteer position with opportunities for training, mentorship, and possible transition into a traineeship stage then formal employment.
