    Outdoor Mindset is looking for new board members to join our team in 2026! Outdoor Mindset’s Board of Directors is a fun working group that is crucial in helping OM deliver its mission.

    We are specifically looking for individuals with experience in nonprofit management and fundraising in the outdoor or healthcare industry.

    The Board of Directors is charged with the governance of the organization to ensure OM’s continued success and growth, especially serving in the areas of leadership, fiscal management, fundraising, and community programming.

    2026 Board of Directors Expectations

    Board members are expected to:

    • Serve one three (3) year term. Members may renew for one additional three (3) year term.
    • Serve on at least 1 board committee (Executive Committee, Fundraising Committee, Programs Committee)
    • Attend regular meetings:
      • 1-hour board meeting per month
      • 2-hour meeting per quarter in place of the monthly board meeting
      • 30-60 minute committee meeting per month
      • Make an effort to attend periodic special meetings as needed
    • Attend the annual board retreat, held each October for 1.5 days, equating to 2-3 days with travel.
    • Attend the annual Outdoor Mindset Summit, typically held in October for two (2) full working days, equating to 2-3 days with travel.
    • Engage proactively via email and working docs with the Executive Director, Board, and Committee Members.
    • Contribute financially to the organization (give or get) each year (any amount).
