FL: Polk County - drive cancer patients to and from treatment
Details
Description
Make a meaningful difference on your own schedule by driving cancer patients who lack reliable transportation. We have an urgent need in Polk County for drivers.
As a Road To Recovery volunteer driver, you'll provide safe transportation so patients can keep their treatment schedules and focus on healing. Rides are requested in advance for appointments primarily Monday–Friday.
Volunteers are encouraged to drive the patient to and from the appointment, but rides are listed as one-way segments. When you drive both legs, the time during the appointment is yours (run errands, grab coffee, work, or wait in a main lobby).
Volunteer drivers must:
- Be age 18–84
- Have a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Use a reliable, insured vehicle
- Pass background and motor vehicle record checks
- Complete online training and use our online ride scheduling tool
We need more drivers and would love your help! You can also learn more at cancer.org/drive.
