Description
Essential Volunteer Responsibilities:
- Ongoing communication with patient and family
- Provide weekly support for up to at least one hour of either direct companionship or respite care
- Understands and maintains boundaries based on parameters set for Volunteers.
- Seeks and accepts guidance from Hospice or Facility staff
- Reports any patient concerns to Volunteer Coordinator or RNCN immediately.
- Completes a Volunteer note upon completion of each day, documenting their time and activities and turns into the Volunteer Coordinator
Qualifications
- Ability to volunteer independently and as a team member
- Knowledge and commitment to hospice philosophy and HIPAA regulations
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
