    Description

URGENT! Bilingual Russian/English Volunteers Needed for Friendly Visiting Holocaust Survivors

We are urgently seeking bilingual Russian/English speaking volunteers for our Friendly Visiting Program for Russia-speaking Holocaust survivors living in Manhattan, Riverdale/Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.

Friendly Visitor volunteers meet for about an hour one-on-one with a client survivor who is socially isolated, on a weekly basis in the client's home. Provide companionship, engage in meaningful conversation, and offer a sympathetic ear. Activities could include board games, listening to music, or simply being an empathetic presence. You'll have the opportunity to develop a personal connection and contribute to the well-being and quality of life for a member of this special community.

Must be able to make a 6 month commitment.
