Wesley Housing is a leading nonprofit, affordable rental housing developer that builds and preserves permanent affordable housing options for families and individuals with low- to moderate-incomes across Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Volunteer Opportunity: Summer Enrichment Programs

We are seeking volunteer photographers interested in capturing our annual summer enrichment programs at our affordable housing communities spanning throughout June, July and August.

These joyful events will take place at several of our properties that feature on-site Community Resource Centers. We’re looking for photographers who are passionate about storytelling through imagery and who can help us celebrate our graduates and their families.

Photographers will be asked to capture:

• candid photos of children and families participating in summer enrichment activities (games, crafts, learning activities, and group projects).
• moments that highlight community connection, creativity, and engagement.
• interactions between resident services staff, volunteers, and participants.
• wide shots of activities taking place in our Community Resource Centers and outdoor spaces.
• individual and small group portraits of program participants when appropriate.

Photographers will follow privacy guidelines and staff direction when photographing children and residents.

Following an event, photographers will provide a selection of quality images that Wesley Housing may use for newsletters, social media, annual reports, and other nonprofit communications.

This is a great opportunity for photographers looking to give back, build their portfolio, or engage with the community in a meaningful way. Volunteer photographers will receive credit on any published photos and a letter of recognition upon request.

Multiple dates and locations available throughout Alexandria, Arlington, Falls Church, McLean, and DC for Quest (grades 1-6) and Odyssey (older adults)

Please note: These events take place on weekdays between 10am-2pm. Photographers typically join for 1-2 hours within that time frame.
