    Description

    Campaign and Movement Building Intern/Volunteer

    Darfur Women Action Group takes a unique approach to genocide prevention and women empowerment and looking for passionate individuals to work toward advancing its mission. DWAG is seeking ambitious candidates interested in advancing the goals this organization is striving to achieve to fill the Campaign and Movement Building Intern/Volunteer position in the summer, fall, and winter/spring terms.

    This position is for a minimum of three months, open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates and other interested candidates. Interested candidates must be available for a minimum of 20 hours a week from 9 AM to 5 PM (all EDT).

    The ideal candidate must:

    - Be able to commit 20-30 hours per week

    - Be organized and punctual

    - Have strong social, interpersonal and communication skills

    - Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint

    - Have experience working with diverse populations, particularly BIPOC communities

    - Possess working knowledge of social media platforms

    - Be passionate about human rights issues!

    - Knowledge of Arabic or another East African regional language is a plus

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Maintain all Rapid Response Network, State Representative and Global Ambassador (volunteer) social media accounts with relevant, up-to-date information concerning the organization and related news;
    • Conduct outreach to recruit more volunteers among DWAG's networks;
    • Facilitate outreach, campaigns and advocacy trainings with our partners and beneficiaries;
    • Maintain partnerships with relevant government institutions and DWAG's existing stakeholders and grassroots organizations in the Washington D.C. area;
    • Assist in identifying new potential partners for collaboration.
