About CAMAAY
CAMAAY (Cameroon Association of Active Youths) is a nonprofit working on community development across Cameroon, from agriculture and education to health, the environment, and youth programs. Our projects run on donations and grants, and steady funding is what lets us keep the current ones alive and start new ones.
The role
We're looking for a volunteer to help us build and run our fundraising from the ground up. It's a hands-on role with real ownership: you'd be the person driving our campaigns, reaching out to donors and partners, and helping bring in the funding our programs depend on.
What you'd do
- Find and reach out to potential donors, partners, and grant opportunities that fit our work
- Plan and run online fundraising campaigns (crowdfunding, social media drives, virtual events) on platforms like GoFundMe or GlobalGiving
- Write the pieces that go with them: campaign pages, donor emails, short proposals
- Work with our marketing volunteers so visuals and storytelling line up
- Stay in touch with donors and track contributions, so people know where their money went and feel appreciated
- Send us a short monthly update on what's working and what you'd change
What we hope you'll bring
- Some experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or nonprofit work (paid or volunteer)
- Clear, warm writing in English
- Your own ideas and the initiative to test them
- Comfort working remotely with a team across different time zones
- Familiarity with crowdfunding tools is a plus, not a requirement
