    Volunteer Graphic Designer

    Mission

    Our mission is to help women and children heal from violent environments and achieve self-sufficiency through holistic support, including career development, housing, and financial assistance.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a creative, mission-driven Volunteer Graphic Designer to support our nonprofit’s visual communications and storytelling efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about using design to make a meaningful impact in the community.

    The Volunteer Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating engaging, on-brand visual materials that effectively communicate our mission, programs, and initiatives. This includes designing digital and print assets such as social media graphics, brochures, newsletters, event materials, presentations, and web visuals. The designer will collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop compelling, high-quality visuals that enhance outreach, strengthen brand consistency, and support campaigns, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.

    Key Responsibilities

      • Design compelling visual content for digital and print including infographics, social media posts, email newsletters, brochures, flyers, reports, and web graphics.
      • Work within brand guidelines to create layouts that reinforce our style and voice across all platforms.
      • Collaborate with marketing team to translate messaging concepts into visual storytelling.
      • Assist in maintaining and updating the organization’s website and digital assets.
      • Prepare design files for print and coordinate with external printers when necessary.
      • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and creative planning meetings.
      • Ensure visual consistency across all touchpoints and help evolve the visual brand identity as needed.

    Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
      • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and design tools such as Canva or Figma.
      • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative projects.
      • Excellent eye for detail, typography, color, and layout.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
      • Experience with basic video editing, animation, or motion graphics is a plus.
      • Familiarity with web design platforms (e.g., Wix, WordPress) is a bonus.

    Preferred Skills

      • Experience designing for nonprofit, mission-driven, or multicultural audiences.
      • Knowledge of accessibility standards in design.
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
