Volunteer with Cleveland Kurentovanje – 14th Annual Festival

Cleveland Kurentovanje (koo-rehn-toh-VAHN-yeh) is a multi-day “Slovenian Mardi Gras” celebration that marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Our mission is to promote and celebrate Slovenian culture through a fun, lively festival that energizes the St. Clair–Superior neighborhood while engaging local, national, and global audiences.

Cleveland Kurentovanje is entirely volunteer-run, and we couldn’t do it without community support! We are actively seeking volunteers to help bring the 14th Annual Cleveland Kurentovanje to life. All are welcome to join in the merrymaking—no prior experience required.

Volunteer Date

• Saturday, February 14

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers may assist in a variety of roles, including:

• Festival set-up and tear-down
• Merchandise sales and support
• Facilities and grounds assistance
• Selling drink tickets
• Bartending*
• General festival support and miscellaneous tasks as needed

(*Bartender roles require volunteers to be 21+ and able to follow alcohol service guidelines.)

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time and work assigned shifts
• Provide friendly, welcoming support to festival guests
• Follow instructions from volunteer coordinators and Committee leads
• Assist with keeping the festival safe, organized, and enjoyable for all

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for community events and cultural celebrations
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Willingness to stand, walk, or lift light items depending on role
• Willingness to participate in either indoor or outdoor volunteer roles based on shift needs
• No prior festival or volunteer experience necessary
• Bartenders must meet age and legal requirements
