    About Students 2 Science (S2S)

Students 2 Science is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making science engaging, accessible, and inspiring for students of all backgrounds. Through immersive, hands-on lab experiences, we introduce elementary students to real scientific tools, concepts, and problem-solving in a supportive and exciting environment.

    About the Opportunity

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support our Elementary ISAAC Programs, where students build confidence and curiosity through guided experiments in a real laboratory setting.

This opportunity is perfect for elementary educators, education students, retired teachers, homeschool parents, and anyone who loves helping young learners explore science through hands-on discovery.

No lab or teaching experience is required. A positive attitude, patience, and excitement for working with children are what matter most.

    What You Will Do

    • Support elementary students as they explore age-appropriate experiments in various STEM disciplines
    • Encourage curiosity, teamwork, and confidence while students work hands-on in the lab
    • Help explain concepts in simple, engaging, and encouraging ways
    • Assist with light setup, cleanup, and restocking of materials
    • Work alongside S2S staff and fellow volunteers to create a safe, welcoming learning environment

    When You Can Help

    • Shifts typically run from approximately 8:15 or 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, based on school visits
    • Volunteer as often as your schedule allows. Commitment is flexible

    Who We Are Looking For

    • Adults 18 and older who enjoy working with elementary-aged children
    • Current teachers, former teachers, education majors, and aspiring educators
    • Volunteers willing to complete a background check facilitated by Students 2 Science
    • Anyone passionate about hands-on learning, mentorship, and youth development

Why You Will Love Volunteering with S2S

    • Make a meaningful impact during a child’s most formative learning years
    • Help students build confidence and excitement around science early on
    • Gain experience in a professional laboratory setting adapted for young learners
    • Join a supportive community of educators, scientists, and volunteers
    • Leave knowing you helped spark a lifelong curiosity in science
