About Us
The Well of Mercy is a nonprofit, long-term transitional housing program providing safe, stable housing and a pathway to independence for women and their children in Chicago for up to five years. Our Second Chance Resale Shop is a social enterprise that directly funds operations and programs for The Well of Mercy home, the resident moms and their children.
Position Overview
Help run our online resale shop that makes a real difference! Volunteers support both our online shop and physical pop up store while raising funds for The Well of Mercy. You play a huge role in keeping our store running and facility to support our families!
What You'll Do
Online Resale Shop
- Create daily postings and maintain online presence
- Photograph and describe donated items
- Respond to customer inquiries
Physical Pop-Up Event Support
- Provide information about our mission
- Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing
- Sort and organize donations
- General cleaning of store displays, back rooms
What We're Looking For
- Friendly people who enjoy customer interaction
- Organized individuals with attention to detail
- Comfortable with social media (for online shop roles)
- Team players willing to help with various tasks
Time Commitment
Flexible, Part-time schedule. Choose online shop work, in-store support, or both!
