SEO Strategist

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Assistant Manager and Creative Deputy Director, the SEO Strategist is responsible for increasing Random Acts’ visibility and attracting mission-aligned audiences to our website. This role focuses on building a sustainable, impact-focused keyword strategy, developing evergreen content in collaboration with creative teams, and optimizing user journeys to support donations, volunteer engagement, and supporter participation.

This role requires approximately 3-5 hours of commitment per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain a long-term keyword and content strategy focused on sustainable growth.
• Proactively research and propose high-impact keyword opportunities that expand Random Acts’ reach while remaining aligned with our mission and values.
• Collaborate with Writing, PR, and Social Media teams to ensure SEO best practices are integrated before publication and to strategically develop evergreen, high-value content.
• Audit existing content to improve keyword alignment, search performance, and overall user experience.
• Optimization of website structure, internal linking, and on-page SEO elements.
• Monitor rankings, traffic, and user behavior, translating insights into clear recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to improve visibility and search performance.
• Strengthen conversion pathways for organic traffic, including donations, newsletter subscriptions, and participation in Random Acts programs.
• Translate SEO insights into clear, actionable guidelines for content creators
• Attend regular staff and departmental meetings.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Enthusiasm and commitment to the objectives of Random Acts.
• Experience in SEO strategy and implementation.
• Proficient in online publishing, particularly with WordPress.
• Strong understanding of on-page, technical, and content SEO.
• Experience with SEO tools.
• Deep understanding of online platforms and audience segmentation across different online communities.
• Ability to collaborate with creative teams.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to explain SEO concepts in accessible terms.
