Digital Literacy Lab Volunteer

Our mission at Conard House is to create and maintain the transformative resources that people who live with chronic mental illness-and frequently concurrent medical conditions-need to self-manage their lives effectively.

We are looking for volunteers to help support our Digital Literacy program. Basic computer skills and an openness to patiently assist people are qualities we're looking for. Whether you're a student, neighborhood local, or tech professional, your knowledge of basic computer, technology, and device skills can help bridge the digital divide for our community of elderly and disabled consumers.

We provide trainings for tech such as phones, tablets, and computers; offer informational programming on topics like Google Suite basics, AI, and cybersecurity; and run community based Tech Labs where members can access computers, printers, and scanners, and receive individualized help.

In this role, tech lab volunteers would assist Conard House Digital Literacy program staff in:

• Teaching consumers about general use of tech devices
• Assisting consumers with troubleshooting such as resetting passwords, setting up accounts, and navigating apps/websites
• Setting up and breaking down classes and open lab periods
• Printing, laminating, and distributing Digital Literacy promotional materials
• Managing the computer lab(s) to promote a positive learning environment
