    Hugs only take a few minutes throughout the day. Fostering a dog may require going for walks multiple times per week, or daily if you don't have a fenced in yard (it's a great way to get your steps in!).

    Foster: Cats and Dogs:

    Do you love animals? Henrico Humane Society is looking for passionate people who want to make a difference. Since we don't have a shelter, our dogs and cats live in foster homes. The more fosters we have, the more animals we can rescue from shelters so you have the ability to help us save lives!

    High school students can earn 1 hour of community service per day through our Foster Fur Credit program!

    Not sure if fostering is for you? Sign up to be a short-term foster who cares for animals when their foster needs to go out of town for a few days.

    We cover all expenses and you provide love to a dog or cat that deserves a better life - what could be more rewarding than that?
