    Volunteer Board of Director

    Position: Volunteer Board of Director

    Commitment: Approximately 5 hours per month

    Location: Remote (meetings held virtually)

    Organization Overview:

    MaleSurvivor is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support, resources, and advocacy for male survivors of sexual abuse and their allies. Our mission is to create a world where all male survivors feel supported, understood, and empowered to heal.

    Position Summary:

    As a member of the Board of Directors, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of MaleSurvivor. This is an opportunity to leverage your skills and passion to make a meaningful difference in the lives of survivors and their communities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strategic Oversight: Provide guidance and oversight on MaleSurvivor’s mission, programs, and goals.
    • Fundraising: Assist in fundraising efforts by identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and participating in campaigns.
    • Advocacy: Act as an ambassador for MaleSurvivor by raising awareness and promoting its mission in your personal and professional networks.
    • Governance: Participate in monthly board meetings, committee discussions, and decision-making processes.
    • Financial Stewardship: Review financial statements and ensure MaleSurvivor’s resources are used effectively and ethically.

    Qualifications:

    • Passion for and commitment to MaleSurvivor’s mission.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to contribute 5 hours per month, including attending virtual board meetings and additional committee work as needed.
    • Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: nonprofit governance, fundraising, advocacy, legal expertise, marketing, mental health, and/or survivor support services.

    Time Commitment

    • Board service includes regular meetings, committee work, and ongoing engagement. What level of time commitment can you realistically offer each month?

    Understanding of the Role

    • What is your understanding of the responsibilities and expectations of a nonprofit Board member?
    • How do you approach maintaining appropriate boundaries in a survivor-centered organization?

    Digital Engagement

    • As a fully digital organization, how comfortable are you working in virtual environments and supporting online community growth and outreach?
