    Description

Become a Volunteer Steward with NYS Parks

Are you interested in a casual volunteer experience that allows you to explore our State Park system while also learning about our local environment? Become a Volunteer Steward and join us at a different State Park on Long Island every weekend!

As a steward, you will be instrumental in helping our parks work towards different environmental and conservational projects in our parks. Our tasks include but are not limited to: Pulling/cutting invasive plants/vines, promoting and participating in native plant growth, helping inside one of our greenhouses, installing and uninstalling protected shorebird habitat fencing, helping with park-related festivals, and more! There will always be a project to get involved with and no pressure to commit.

If you would like to get involved with our Volunteer Stewardship Program, inquire to receive weekly email updates or check out our Eventbrite listings at Long Island State Parks Eventbrite.

    See you out there!
