    Intern Responsibilities

    Social Media, Marketing & Film Intern

    Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum Bicentennial Celebration

    Thank you for your interest in the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum as a Social Media, Marketing & Film Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience in event marketing, digital storytelling, photography, videography, and public engagement while helping document and promote the museum's historic Bicentennial Celebration.

    Social Media

    Responsibilities:

    • Create engaging social media content before, during, and after the Bicentennial Celebration.
    • Capture behind-the-scenes moments and event highlights for Instagram, Facebook, and other museum platforms.
    • Assist with writing captions that promote museum programs, history, and community engagement.
    • Schedule and publish approved social media posts.
    • Monitor audience engagement and respond to comments or messages as directed by museum staff.
    • Help maintain the museum's visual identity and branding across social media platforms.

    Photography & Videography

    Responsibilities:

    • Photograph event activities, performances, exhibits, volunteers, and guests.
    • Record video footage throughout the Bicentennial Celebration.
    • Ensure photos and videos are well-composed, properly exposed, and accurately represent the event.
    • Organize and archive digital media files following museum standards.

    Video Production & Editing

    Responsibilities:

    • Edit short-form videos for social media platforms and promotional use.
    • Produce recap videos highlighting the Bicentennial Celebration.
    • Create reels, highlight clips, and other digital storytelling content.
    • Add captions, graphics, music, and transitions that align with the museum's branding.
    • Assist in developing multimedia content for future educational and promotional purposes.

    Event Coverage

    Responsibilities:

    • Document all major Bicentennial events, demonstrations, performances, and special activities.
    • Coordinate with museum staff to ensure important moments are captured.
    • Remain flexible and move throughout the event to photograph and film different activities.
    • Maintain professionalism while working around guests and performers.
    • Respect guest privacy and follow museum photography policies.

    General Intern Expectations

    All Social Media, Marketing & Film Interns are expected to:

    • Arrive on time and maintain a reliable internship schedule.
    • Dress professionally while remaining comfortable for outdoor event coverage.
    • Demonstrate creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
    • Communicate effectively with museum staff and fellow interns.
    • Handle photography and video equipment responsibly.
    • Be respectful of guests, volunteers, performers, and museum collections.
    • Follow museum branding, photography, and social media guidelines.
    • Represent the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a positive attitude.

    • Exit at Del Amo Boulevard.
    • Head west on Del Amo Boulevard.
    • Turn right (north) onto Alameda Street.
    • Continue approximately ½ mile.
    • The museum entrance will be on the right.

    From the 110 Freeway

    • Take the Del Amo Boulevard exit.
    • Head east on Del Amo Boulevard.
    • Turn left (north) onto Alameda Street.
    • Continue approximately ½ mile.
    • The museum entrance will be on the right.

    Parking

    Free parking is available around the museum's historic rose garden. Please park head-first in the marked spaces. During special events, additional parking may be available on the lower grounds, while upper parking is typically reserved for accessible parking.
