    Description

About us: Evergreen Movement (Evergreen Project Inc.) is a new Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops environmental curriculum for middle school students and advocates for federal policy on the environment, housing, and democracy. Our Environmental Responsibility Curriculum for grades 6–8 has four full units written, aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards, with four more in development.

The role: We're looking for an experienced educator to join our founding board and guide the curriculum as it moves into classrooms. You'll help us make sure every unit is accurate, usable, and genuinely good for students and teachers.

    What you'll do:

    • Serve on the board of directors: attend quarterly meetings and vote on major decisions
    • Advise on curriculum quality, review processes, and pilot plans
    • Help lead our Curriculum Advisory Council of working teachers
    • Open doors to schools, districts, and education networks
    • Help us align the curriculum with NAAEE's Guidelines for Excellence

You might be a good fit if you have:

    • Experience teaching middle or high school science, or leading curriculum as a department head, coordinator, or district specialist
    • Familiarity with NGSS and with environmental or place-based education
    • A commitment to nonpartisan, evidence-based teaching
    • Retired educators are especially welcome

Time commitment: About [3–5] hours a month, for a [two-year] term.
