    Description

Your signature dish. Your family’s food traditions. The cuisine you know and love. What if sharing those gifts could help someone feel nourished, welcomed, and valued?

The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen is seeking volunteer guest chefs from Garland and surrounding communities to bring their skills, creativity, and heart to our community meal pop-ups.

We provide free, freshly prepared meals and restaurant-style hospitality to people experiencing food insecurity and neighbors in need. Our guests enjoy a welcoming dining experience where care goes into both the food and the way it is served.

We would love to connect with chefs who bring diverse culinary backgrounds and a passion for sharing what they know. Whether your specialty comes from professional kitchens, cultural traditions, or years of hands-on cooking, we want to hear what you could bring to the table.

    HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE

We’ll work together to find a role that fits your experience and availability. You might:

    • Collaborate with our kitchen team on a menu featuring a cuisine or specialty you know well.

    • Help prepare and lead the execution of specific dishes at a community meal pop-up.

    • Teach our chefs a technique, recipe, or approach that strengthens their skills.

    • Guide volunteers through preparation tasks and share practical kitchen knowledge.

    • Join us for one special event or return occasionally as your schedule allows.

YOU’LL HAVE A TEAM BESIDE YOU

Our volunteer staff can assist with prep work and other kitchen tasks under your guidance. You’ll collaborate with our existing chefs and leadership, with the menu, ingredient needs, equipment, portions, and responsibilities discussed ahead of time.

    FLEXIBLE PARTICIPATION

You are not expected to volunteer every month. Our community meal pop-ups take place on the first Sunday of the month in Garland, and guest chefs can participate on mutually agreed-upon dates. Planning and coordination will take place before your selected event.

    WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • Chefs and experienced cooks with a strong understanding of their specialty.

    • People who enjoy collaborating, teaching, and working with volunteers of different experience levels.

    • Reliable, thoughtful kitchen leaders who value food safety and treat others with respect.

    • People who believe everyone deserves a wonderful meal and genuine hospitality, regardless of their circumstances.

Experience preparing meals for groups is helpful. Appropriate food-safety credentials are required for your assigned kitchen responsibilities and will be discussed during onboarding.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Your contribution is your culinary time and talent; donating ingredients is not a requirement of the role.

Bring the food you love to cook and the heart behind it. Together, we can give our neighbors a dining experience they’ll remember. Garland, Texas. This is an in-person opportunity for chefs and experienced cooks in Garland and surrounding communities who can travel to our community meal events.
