Position Summary:
The Program Manager - Gather Game Grow oversees the creation, implementation, growth, and ongoing management of the Gather Game Grow program. This role involves developing educational content, creating public-facing resources, coordinating advocacy campaigns, building partnerships, and cultivating a recognizable community presence for the program.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about the intersection of community health, relationship-building, and recreational play, and who is invested in elevating tabletop gaming as a meaningful tool for personal and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development & Strategy
- Lead the development of the Gather Game Grow program structure, voice, and long-term strategy.
- Create a multi-phase roadmap for the public advocacy campaign, including content categories, outreach priorities, and community impact goals.
- Educational Content & Resource Creation
- Develop accessible, research-informed educational materials such as:
- Articles, guides, worksheets, and resource toolkits
- Social media education series
- Video or multimedia learning content
- Workshops, public talks, and community presentations
- Translate evidence-based insights about play, mental wellness, and social connection into approachable, engaging content for a general audience.
- Public Advocacy & Outreach
- Design and coordinate advocacy initiatives that promote the benefits of tabletop gaming for:
- Emotional resilience
- Social skills and empathy
- Relationship strengthening
- Community-building
- Mental well-being
- Represent g3 Games at community events, conferences, and public forums when appropriate.
- Build public visibility for the program through consistent messaging and outreach.
- Partnership & Community Engagement
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with:
- Libraries
- Mental wellness organizations (non-clinical)
- Community centers
- Local businesses
- Play and education-focused professionals
- Collaborate with partners to deliver educational workshops, host resource-sharing events, and distribute advocacy content.
- Maintain a partner database and track engagement history.
- Digital Resource Hub Management
- Oversee the development and ongoing curation of the Gather Game Grow online resource hub.
- Coordinate with the Communications Leads to ensure all resources are accurate, organized, and accessible.
- Regularly update the hub with new learning materials, guides, and advocacy content.
- Communications & Collaboration
- Work closely with Communications Leads to ensure consistent branding and messaging across website, social media, newsletters, and public materials.
- Provide clear program updates and content needs to the Assistant Director of Programs and Executive Director.
- Collaborate with other Program Managers to encourage cross-program integration where appropriate.
- Volunteer & Facilitator Engagement
- Work with the Volunteer Manager to recruit volunteers for content creation, workshop support, research, and outreach.
- Train and support volunteers involved in curriculum development or public-facing education.
- Foster a positive, mission-centered volunteer environment.
- Program Evaluation & Reporting
- Track impact metrics (audience reach, resource usage, workshop attendance, partner engagement, etc.).
- Gather public and partner feedback to guide program improvements.
- Prepare regular updates for the Assistant Director of Programs and Executive Director, including strategic recommendations and growth opportunities.
Qualifications
- Required
- Strong passion for g3 Games’ mission and belief in the power of play to strengthen communities.
- Experience in education, advocacy, communications, community outreach, or program development.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to translate research and evidence-based insights into accessible public content.
- Experience with group facilitation, public speaking, or workshop delivery.
- Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities.
- Comfort engaging with a wide range of community audiences.
- Occasional availability for evening or weekend events.
- Preferred
- Background in public education, community advocacy, instructional design, or wellness-related fields (non-clinical).
- Experience creating curriculum, guides, or educational resources.
- Familiarity with tabletop gaming and its social-emotional benefits.
- Prior involvement in nonprofit or community-focused organizations.
- Digital content creation experience (writing, video, graphics, or similar).
