Volunteer Opportunity – Partner with Rise Academy for the East End Block Party (May 16)

Rise Academy is hosting The East End Block Party on May 16. This is a free, family-friendly afternoon for neighbors across the East End. Last year, more than 250 guests, community organizations, small businesses, and families attended the block party. Sponsors help cover the costs so the event stays free and accessible to everyone. More than that, your support demonstrates a commitment to serving families in our city and bringing people together in a part of Richmond that deserves celebration.

As part of this effort, we are seeking volunteer support for both the day before the event and the day of the event.

Volunteer Opportunities

Day Before the Event – Setup Support - May 15

Volunteers will assist with preparing the event space to ensure a smooth and successful experience. Tasks may include:

• Setting up tables, tents, and chairs
• Organizing vendor and activity areas
• Assembling welcome and registration materials
• Decorating event spaces
• Placing signage and directional materials
• Preparing check-in stations

Event Day – May 16

Volunteers will support the execution of the event and help create a welcoming and engaging environment for all attendees. Roles may include:

• Guest registration and welcome team
• Parking and arrival support
• Hospitality and refreshment stations
• Assisting with games and activity stations
• Supporting vendors and community partners
• General event support (floaters)
• Event breakdown and cleanup
