    Description

    Back-to-school season is here, and Spark the Journey is looking for mentors ready to make a difference!

    Share your knowledge, experiences, and encouragement with a young person in the DMV as they navigate high school, college, career training, and their next steps. We're always looking for mentors with diverse backgrounds, professions, and interests to match with our students. Apply to mentor today!

    Requirements

    • 21 years old or older
    • Associate degree, technical degree, or higher
    • Resident of the DMV metropolitan area

    Flexible Mentoring Schedule – High School

    • 1-year time commitment
    • Call/text/email your mentee 1x a week
    • Meet with your mentee virtually or in-person 1x a month
    • Attend a monthly virtual workshop with your Program Coordinator

    Flexible Mentoring Schedule – Year Up

    • 6-month time commitment
    • Meet with your mentee virtually or in-person 1x a month
    • Attend bi-monthly workshops

    Flexible Mentoring Schedule – Northern Virginia Community College - Woodbridge

    • 6-month time commitment
    • Call/text/email your mentee 1x a week
    • Attend a virtual monthly workshop with your Program Manager
    • Attend a monthly in-person session at NOVA-Woodbridge to meet with your mentee

    Flexible Mentoring Schedule- Advanced Technical Center (ATC)

    • 1-year time commitment
    • Communicate with your mentee weekly
    • Participate in monthly virtual mentor trainings
    • Engage in in-person opportunities through Spark and ATC programming
    • Receive ongoing support and access to Spark's mentoring resources throughout the program

    Additional Benefits

    • Build community and network with other mentors
    • Receive ongoing training and support
    • Participate in community events
