    Description

Meet with your assigned Little twice monthly (once every two weeks) at agreed upon time & location between yourself, Little and their Guardian, when/where applicable. Engage Little with enriching, safe activities such as playing games, reading, crafting, going outside, watching a movie, etc. There are no requirements for Bigs to pay for activities and Big Brothers Big Sisterts offers many free events and discounts. (Big Brothers Big Sisters will not pay for your sessions otherwise.)

    Mentors:

    • Submit an application
    • Pass background check and interview
    • Have proof of reliable transportation for Match meetings (some Matches live closer to each other than others -- home visits are not allowed until at least the first year of Match and with additional safety assessments)
    • Take a safety & Match training
    • Keep open communication with us, and Little's guardian where applicable participate in evaluation/any needed training
    • Comply with laws and ordinances
    • Communicate before/during/after emergencies or any concerning situations
    • Must be able to meet with, walk/roll along side and communicate with a child age 6-18
    • Communication via phone between staff and Guardians is also required

This opportunity helps local youth in need of positive and consistent mentoring. Mentors gain incredible relationships, inspiration and friendship from their Littles. Mentors can provide Littles with guidance and care, and in turn fulfill their own service/mentor aspirations. Mentors can see the positive transformation in their Littles life from their mentorship. Mentors also are provided with monthly events including free games, food etc, and discounts or tickets for local events when able.
