Volunteers advocate for the best interest of the children by becoming familiar with written material related to the case, interviewing all interested parties, maintaining contact with the child, keeping records of all contacts, providing written reports to the court and encouraging the permanent placement of children in their own homes or other suitable living arrangements.

Advocate for the best interest of the children. All volunteers must be 21 years of age, complete a written application, pass a KBI and an SRS check, attend a personal interview, complete 15 hours of training, sign an oath of confidentiality and make a one year commitment. Good communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality are important.
