Implicit Marginalia - Updated Project Description

    Implicit Marginalia Project

Join CrowdDoing and the Implicit Marginalia project team in envisioning the future of

online search and bringing these innovations to life! If you are passionate about technology and

the role it plays in facilitating the attainment of knowledge, then this position is for you.

What is Implicit Marginalia? Have you ever quoted a text while doing research or giving

a presentation, and wondered what other sources have quoted that same content? Well Implicit

Marginalia, patented by Reframe It, allows you to access other bodies of literature where said text

has been mentioned, through the use of its automated annotation method. The way this works is

that every time a phrase, sentence, or passage from a given text is quoted in a later text, a

snapshot of that later text is turned into a comment that is inserted in the earlier text next to the

    passage being quoted.

Why is this unique? Aside from pointing out other sources where a given text has been

cited, Implicit Marginalia is unique in that it allows users to prioritize their search according to

their preferences. Some of the ways in which this information can be filtered involves seeing how

this given text has been quoted over time, where in the world, and the implications others have

    drawn out of it.

Who will benefit from this project? This tool is significant and necessary, as the

implementation of it would revolutionize the way we read. It would help researchers, students,

and a variety of other professionals better understand the context of the readings they are

engaging with, as well as their importance, and use.

Sounds like something you want to be a part of? Our team is looking for a Software

Architect that would lead the technical team in designing and implementing our Implicit

Marginalia annotation search tool. So, if this is a position you are intrigued by, please refer to the

job description attached for more information on the position.
