Description
This program is based in civic engagement, and participants will work on an ongoing service project for Washington Park while also building financial literacy skills for personal growth, including budgeting, saving, and decision-making.
Expected activities include group instruction, collaborative project work, and interactive learning sessions in a supervised environment.
All volunteers will complete a brief onboarding + background check
Minimum qualifications (solid baseline)
- 18+
- Interest in civic engagement, youth development, or financial literacy
- Reliable attendance (this matters a LOT)
- Ability to communicate with youth respectfully
- Willingness to complete a short orientation/training
Preferred qualifications (ideal candidates)
- Background in:
- education, tutoring, mentoring
- finance/banking/business
- social work or psychology
- community organizing or nonprofits
- Experience working with youth (even informal)
- Strong communication skills
- Leadership or facilitation experience
