    Description

Help us spend less time on manual processes—and more time on our mission.

Founded in 1987, James S. Brady Therapeutic Riding is a San Francisco nonprofit that helps children and young people build strength, confidence, and connection through the healing power of horses. Since 2019, Brady has operated on the grounds of San Francisco Zoo & Gardens.

As Brady has grown, some of our behind-the-scenes systems haven't kept pace. We're looking for a Volunteer Automation & Systems Specialist to help us simplify workflows, connect our tools, and reduce repetitive administrative work.

You'll work with Brady leadership to understand how things work today, identify practical improvements, and help implement simple, sustainable solutions appropriate for a small nonprofit.

    What You'll Do

    • Help digitize website and administrative forms.
    • Automate the transfer of appropriate data into Salesforce.
    • Improve how we collect, organize, and retrieve rider, volunteer, donor, and program information.
    • Help bring our scheduling project to completion.
    • Identify repetitive administrative and financial processes that could be automated.
    • Connect existing tools where practical to reduce duplicate data entry.
    • Help organize and improve our Salesforce processes.
    • Document systems so staff and future volunteers can maintain them.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You...

    • Have experience with workflow automation, systems administration, no-code/low-code tools, or related technology. Salesforce experience is a plus.
    • Enjoy looking at a manual process and figuring out a simpler way to accomplish it.
    • Can translate technical concepts for nontechnical users.
    • Are practical and comfortable working within the realities of a small nonprofit.
    • Can work independently while collaborating with the people who actually use the systems.
    • Value simple, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.

You don't need expertise in every platform or technology we use. We're looking for someone with the technical foundation and problem-solving ability to help us make meaningful improvements.

    Schedule & Commitment

This is a flexible volunteer role that can be performed primarily remotely. Some projects will have clear finish lines, while ongoing support may continue based on your interest and availability.

    What You'll Gain

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of real technology and workflow challenges and see the direct results of your work.

The role can provide valuable nonprofit systems and automation experience for someone building their career—or a meaningful skills-based volunteer opportunity for an experienced technology professional who wants to use their expertise for social impact.

    Instructions:

Please provide your resume (or LinkedIn profile link) or description of your pertinent background, the best times to contact you, and where you are located. While this role can be done completely remotely, it's always best to be able to visit the Brady Barn (located on SF Zoo grounds) on occasion to see how processes are functioning on-site. Also, it's a great way to soak in the energy and see first-hand how the program benefits our community.
