Help Immigrants in Austin, TX Learn English Remotely this Summer

Manos de Cristo (Manos) is a nonprofit that offers ESL classes to students in Austin, Texas. Our ESL classes range from Levels Basic through High Intermediate. Our growing education program relies entirely on volunteer instructors, and that's why we need you!

Our ESL teachers provide on-site and online classes and gain experience in lesson planning, interpersonal communication and exposure to cultural diversity. Teachers prepare and administer lessons from materials provided by Manos while bringing the English language to life from their own real world experiences and understanding of culture in the United States.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to commit to teach online classes once or twice a week between 9:30AM and 11:30 AM or 6:30PM and 8:30PM (Central Time). Classes begin on June 1st and will run through July 23, 2026. Previous ESL teaching experience is a plus but not a requirement, as is knowledge of other languages. Volunteers will receive curriculum guides, ebook/platform access and materials, and additional learning resources from the Manos Education staff. Training workshops are provided when the resources are available.
