    Description

    We are seeking passionate and dedicated volunteers to design, facilitate, and deliver engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning experiences for youth ages 8 –18. This role focuses on inspiring curiosity, building confidence, and promoting hands-on learning through age-appropriate instruction and interactive activities.

    Volunteers will play a vital role in empowering the next generation of innovators—especially youth from underserved communities—by fostering critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.

    Instructions:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design & Deliver Curriculum
    • Develop and lead STEM lessons, workshops, and activities tailored to different age groups (8 – 12, 13 –18)
    • Create hands-on, project-based learning experiences (e.g., coding, robotics, engineering challenges, science experiments)
    • Facilitate Engaging Learning Environments
    • Encourage participation, collaboration, and creativity among students
    • Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and abilities
    • Mentor & Support Students
    • Provide guidance, encouragement, and academic support
    • Inspire interest in STEM careers and higher education pathways
    • Prepare Materials
    • Organize lesson plans, materials, and supplies in advance
    • Ensure activities are safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate
    • Track Participation & Progress
    • Assist with attendance tracking and basic feedback reporting
    • Provide input on student engagement and program effectiveness
    • Collaborate with Team
    • Work with other volunteers, staff, and program coordinators
    • Participate in training sessions and team meetings

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Interest or background in STEM fields (education, engineering, technology, science, math, etc.)
    • Experience working with youth (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or volunteering)
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Creativity, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
