As the face of Vitalant Blood Drives and Donation Centers, our Blood Drive Volunteers ensure that our amazing blood donors have an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive until the time they leave.

Responsibilities include:

• • Welcome and check-in donors.
  • Manage donor flow.
  • Explain the donation process if needed and answer any questions donors may have.
  • Ensure each donor reads pre-donation materials.
  • Offer promotional items when available.
  • Encourage donors to donate the best product for their blood type for maximum impact.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Set up and maintain cleanliness in Reception and Refreshment/Recovery areas.
  • Ensure Refreshment/Recovery area is clean, restocked, and donors are re-hydrated after their donation procedure.
  • Report on possible adverse post-donation physical reactions to staff.
  • Check if donor was provided post-donation information before leaving.
  • Encourage the donor to rebook their next blood donation.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Must pass a Criminal Background Check with SSN if 18 or older.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service care.
  • Comfortable working with people from diverse communities and backgrounds.
  • Attend a 30-minute remote orientation and complete required online training.
  • No Community Service Hours Offered.
