Words shape reality. As a Civic Voice Writer for the Pro-Truth Pledge, you will craft compelling op-eds,
letters to the editor, press releases, and blog articles that bring PTP's mission to local and national
audiences. Your writing will appear in community newspapers, on our website, and in media pitches —
making the case for truth, civility, and a healthier public discourse. If you have a passion for writing and
a belief that clear, honest communication can change the world, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Write op-eds and opinion pieces on topics related to truth in politics, media literacy, and civic responsibility for submission to local and national newspapers
- Draft letters to the editor responding to current news events through a pro-truth lens
- Compose professional press releases announcing PTP milestones, new signatories, and campaign updates for distribution to media outlets
- Write blog posts and articles for the PTP website that educate and inspire a civic-minded audience
- Collaborate with the PTP director to ensure all content aligns with the organization's tone, mission, and non-partisan values
Qualifications
- Strong writing ability with experience in opinion, journalistic, or nonprofit communications writing
- Ability to research and write accurately on political, social, or policy topics without partisan framing
- Comfort adapting tone and length for different formats — from 150-word letters to 900-word op-eds
- Meticulous editing skills and commitment to factual accuracy
- A genuine belief in truth, civil discourse, and the role of media in democracy
