    Description

    Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is a non-profit organization that believes that every New Yorker deserves to know home in NYC. S:US works with communities and individuals in every corner of the city and on Long Island to make sure every New Yorker has the chance to find home. Because home is more than a roof. Home is stability, safety, community, and a sense of belonging. And the opportunity to find home is the right of every New Yorker.

    Alafia is a 48-apartment building in East New York which serves formerly homeless single adults with mental health diagnoses. Volunteers would help document tenant and program files, take minutes on weekly meetings, and assist with pantry distribution on an as needed basis. As weekly meetings occur on Wednesdays, Alafia would prefer someone available on that day.

    Responsibilities

    • Documentation of tenants and program files
    • Note taking during meetings
    • Assisting with pantry distrbution

    Preferred Skills

    • Good writing skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Ex. Excel, Word)
    • Team Player
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
