    Medical Internship and Volunteer Project In Ghana

    St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation offers a specialized Medical Internship Project designed for professionals like you, providing valuable insights and hands-on experience in healthcare delivery.

    Program

    Overview:

    Our Medical Internship Program offers experienced medical practitioners the opportunity to enhance their skills and broaden their perspectives in a diverse healthcare environment. Participants will have the opportunity to work alongside healthcare professionals at renowned medical institutions such as Trauma and Specialist Hospital, Kasoa Government Poly Clinic, Senya Poly Clinic and other reputable hospitals across Ghana.

    Key Program Components:

    Hospital Internship:

    Participants will undergo a comprehensive hospital internship at a renowned or other designated medical facilities in Ghana. Under the guidance of experienced medical professionals, interns will have the opportunity to observe medical procedures, engage in patient care activities, and contribute to clinical discussions.

    Medical volunteers during medical outreach

    In addition to hospital internships, participants will participate in medical outreach programs aimed at providing healthcare services to underserved communities. These outreach activities may include health screenings, vaccinations, health education sessions, and community health assessments.

    Professional

    Requirements: As a professional medical practitioner, participants are required to provide proof of professionalism and membership in their respective professional associations. This ensures compliance with hospital regulations and facilitates hands-on experience during the internship period.

    Health and Safety Measures: St. Miracle Works Educational Foundation prioritizes the safety and well-being of our participants. We adhere to stringent health and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment at placement sites, accommodations, and throughout the program duration. Our dedicated staff provides 24/7 support and assistance to address any concerns or emergencies.

    Scrubs Requirement: Interns are required to bring along 3 sets of scrubs for their hospital rotations. These scrubs will be used during their clinical duties at the hospital and are essential for maintaining hygiene standards.

    Certificate of Participation: Upon successful completion of the Medical Internship Project, participants will receive a certificate of participation acknowledging their contributions and achievements. This certificate serves as a testament to their dedication to advancing healthcare and making a positive impact in global communities.

    Highlights

    1. Our programs are based in the cities of Cape Coast and Swedru where volunteers or interns will be placed in larger city hospitals.
    2. Volunteers or interns can work in the smaller towns of Senya Beraku or Accra in local hospitals.
    3. Go on weekend excursions or join social events together with other SMWEF volunteers and interns.
    4. Enjoy optimum flexibility in your program duration, which could be one week to one year!
    5. Volunteers or interns will have the chance to not only work on mental health and psychology skills but learn about a different culture.

    How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

    Requirement for volunteers:

      • Volunteers must be 18 years and above. For volunteers between 15 – 17 years, we will need to receive consent and approval from parents before we can finally offer them placement of their choice.
      • Caring spirit, a big heart, open-minded and able to understand the children.
      • Must speak good English or intermediate
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
      • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
      • Should be able to work independently as well as in teams when there is the need
      • Ability to respect and abide by rules of the placement activity.
      • Volunteers applying as medics must have relevant medical training and certification during your application process.
