    Volunteers come weekly, on the same day and time, either between 9:30 am-12 pm or 2:00-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday, for at least six months. We do not have evening or weekend volunteer opportunities.

    Description

    Friendly Visitor (18 years old +)

    Provide 1-on-1 companionship to older adults who reside in Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, or Assisted Living. Visits can include conversation, reading aloud, singing, doing a puzzle, playing cards or a game together, etc. For residents who participate in our Music & Memory program, this can involve ensuring their music device is charged and offering to listen to music with them.

    How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

    The below are our pre-screening requirements of our volunteers:

    • Provide verification of a TB skin test completed within the last 12 months with a negative result.
    • During flu season (October through May), provide verification of flu vaccination for current calendar year. If you choose to not receive the flu vaccine, you will need to remain masked at all times while volunteering during flu season (October through May).
    • Complete a Criminal Background Check (online).
    • Attend an in-person volunteer orientation.
    • Receive an interview/tour.
