Description
Role Overview
The Veteran Companion Volunteer provides companionship and connection to hospice patients who have served in the military. Through conversation and presence, volunteers help honor our veterans and ensure they feel recognized, valued, and respected.
Volunteer Activities May Include:
- Listening to life stories and experiences
- Engaging in meaningful conversation
- Providing quiet companionship and emotional support
You do not need to be a veteran to serve in this role.
Volunteer Requirements:
- Willingness to attend orientation and complete brief training
- Consent to a federal and state background check
- TB blood test (paid for by Suncrest Hospice)
- Two forms of identification
- Current auto insurance
