Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Coordinator
Details
Description
About the Role
As a Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for individuals looking to join the Nuvia Global Foundation mission. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of human connection and operational efficiency. You will manage our volunteer pipeline on Idealist, ensuring that every applicant receives a timely, professional, and empathetic response, while helping the Director build a high-quality team ready to serve girls and young women in Africa.
Responsibilities
- Pipeline Management: Actively monitor and manage the Idealist platform to track new volunteer inquiries and move candidates through the screening stages of assigned requisitions.
- Initial Screening: Review resumes, applications and screening questions to identify top-tier talent that aligns with Nuvia’s values and current staffing needs for the upcoming school year.
- Candidate Experience: Serve as a primary liaison for applicants, answering questions about the volunteer experience and maintaining Nuvia’s professional reputation through consistent communication.
- Documentation & Onboarding Support: Assist the HR Director in scheduling on-boarding and preparing the necessary accesses for the onboarding phase.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline the "apply-to-onboard" journey to ensure we are capturing the best talent efficiently.
Ideal Skills
- Exceptional Discernment: The ability to review written applications and identify not just technical skills, but the "heart" and cultural fit required for Nuvia’s trauma-informed mission.
- Organizational Prowess: Comfort managing multiple "moving parts" within a digital platform; prior experience with Google Workspace, Slack or applicant tracking systems is a plus.
- Professional Empathy: Superior written communication skills with the ability to deliver both "welcome" messages and "not at this time" notifications with grace and tact.
- Proactive Follow-through: A self-starter mindset that ensures no applicant falls through the cracks during our high-volume recruitment periods.
- Mission Alignment: A genuine passion for international development, mental health advocacy, and the empowerment of young women.
Even if you’re early in your HR journey, we encourage you to apply. We value initiative and willingness to learn.
