Experienced Accountant - Remote - approx 3 hours a week

🐾 Volunteer CPA / Nonprofit Tax Accountant – Make a Direct Impact 🐾

We are a small, mission-driven animal rescue with just one employee, and we are currently spending a significant portion of our limited funds on outsourced accounting and year-end tax preparation.

We are seeking a CPA or experienced nonprofit tax professional willing to volunteer their expertise to help us reduce costs and strengthen our financial foundation.

What we need help with:

• Oversight of bookkeeping (credit cards, PayPal, journal entries)
• Review and organization of financial records and general ledger
• Donation tracking and Form 990 Schedule B reporting
• Preparation and/or review of Form 990 and required state filings
• Year-end closing and tax compliance

Where you can make a real difference:

✨ Provide insight into our financials and identify improvements

✨ Ensure we remain compliant and set up for long-term sustainability

Ideal volunteer:

• CPA or equivalent experience in nonprofit accounting/tax
• Experience preparing or reviewing Form 990
• Comfortable advising a small nonprofit with limited resources
• Passion for animal welfare
