    Description

The site at Oakland is the largest and busiest of the 3 Bay Area ReCARES locations. We serve about 150 visitors from Noon-4 PM every Friday. Donors arrive to pass on the supplies and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) no longer needed by their family. Much of that is given out the same day to visitors trying to meet their home healthcare needs, usually not covered by any health insurance. It sounds pretty straight forward but there is a lot going on behind the scenes. You'll learn many things and be contributing invaluable assistance keeping our site running smoothly. Please check out "recares.org" for a fuller understanding. I look forward to meeting you!

How to Volunteer for This Opportunity

Volunteering at ReCARES is challenging and fulfilling. If you have healthcare experience, you will be able to see a different side of the patient experience. If you don't, it may inspire you to pursue HC training. In any case, you'll be helping the environment by recirculating valuable DME and supplies to community members who really need the resources to live safely at home. And you'll meet a lot of friendly, helpful people.
