    Description

    Dream Factory of Brooklyn, the largest all-volunteer-driven dream-granting organization for children with critical and chronic illnesses, is seeking a Volunteer UI/UX Website Manager with advanced WordPress experience. This role involves ensuring our website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized to support our mission of granting dreams to children aged 3 through 18.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage and maintain the Dream Factory of Brooklyn website, ensuring its functionality, security, and performance.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and leadership teams to implement UI/UX improvements that enhance user experience and drive engagement.
    • Redesign and update website layouts, graphics, and interactive elements to align with our brand and mission.
    • Conduct regular website audits to identify and resolve issues related to usability, design, or technical performance.
    • Optimize the website for mobile responsiveness and accessibility in compliance with best practices and web standards.
    • Integrate and update plugins, tools, and features to improve functionality and visitor experience.
    • Analyze user behavior using tools like Google Analytics and Hotjar to inform design decisions.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve website issues promptly.
    • Train and guide other volunteers or team members on basic WordPress website management.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven advanced experience with WordPress, including custom theme development and plugin integration.
    • Strong knowledge of UI/UX principles, responsive design, and web accessibility standards.
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; knowledge of PHP is a plus.
    • Experience with website optimization tools and techniques for speed, SEO, and performance.
    • Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics and Hotjar.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Passion for Dream Factory’s mission and a desire to make a meaningful impact.

    Commitment:

    • Volunteer position requiring approximately 10 hours per week, flexible with a preference for availability during weekdays.
    • This position is virtual, with occasional Zoom meetings as needed.
