Adelante Board of Directors Position

Adelante Board members are experienced leaders who share a commitment to expanding economic opportunity for women in Honduras. Ideal candidates bring professional expertise, sound judgment, a willingness to support Adelante’s mission and staff, and the ability to open doors to potential funders, partners, and future board members. Board members help advance Adelante’s mission and provide strategic direction and oversight; review and approve the annual budget and contribute ideas to strengthen organizational capacity; advocate for Adelante and its clients; and serve as ambassadors in their communities. Directors are expected to make a meaningful annual financial contribution and assist with fundraising, serve on a committee that typically meets quarterly, attend two in-person Board meetings each year—one in the U.S. and one in Honduras—and remain engaged between meetings by providing counsel, making introductions, and helping tell Adelante’s story. Directors traditionally serve a five-year term.
