Organization Overview:

Mommy's Heart, Inc. (EIN #87-4833078) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free legal, mental health, and advocacy services to parents and children who have escaped domestic abuse and face retaliatory litigation by their abusers in court. Due to systemic failures and lack of equal access to justice, abusers are often able to exploit the family court system against their victims, resulting in 58,000 children each year being court-ordered into unsupervised contact, including sole custody arrangements, with an abusive parent. Every six days, a child dies due to family court failures.

Mommy’s Heart aims to protect and defend the fundamental rights of all fit parents to direct the care and custody of their children, so that no parent has to fear losing a child for reporting abuse. We are dedicated to empowering survivors with equal access to justice, healing, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives, including through economic empowerment, advocacy, and education, so they can achieve long-term safety and independence.

Position Title: Social Media Reel Creator(Volunteer)

Duration: Ongoing, flexible (approximately 3–5 hours per week)

Volunteer Opportunity Description:

Are you passionate about storytelling, social justice, and digital creativity? Mommy’s Heart is seeking a Volunteer Social Media Reel Creator to help us produce short, engaging, and impactful video content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook. These reels will highlight our mission, share survivor success stories, promote fundraising campaigns, and increase public awareness about the urgent need for reform in family court systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to use your creative and technical skills to help a growing nonprofit inspire action, attract donors, and empower survivors through the power of digital storytelling.

Responsibilities:

As a Social Media Reel Creator, you will:

• Develop short-form video concepts that align with Mommy’s Heart’s mission and brand voice.
• Create, edit, and finalize visually appealing and emotionally resonant reels using interviews, b-roll footage, event clips, and quotes.
• Incorporate captions, transitions, graphics, and background music appropriate for social media.
• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure content aligns with our advocacy and fundraising goals.
• Adapt long-form video and promotional materials into short, optimized clips for multiple platforms.
• Stay current on social media trends to ensure content remains fresh, engaging, and shareable.
• Assist with scheduling and posting your creations across social channels (optional, if preferred).

Qualifications:

• Skilled in video creation and editing platforms (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Rush, InShot, Canva, or similar).
• Strong understanding of current social media trends, engagement strategies, and reel-style storytelling.
• Experience creating content for nonprofit, advocacy, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
• Excellent sense of pacing, tone, and emotional storytelling.
• Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple short projects on flexible deadlines.
• Sensitivity and professionalism when working with survivor-based stories and subject matter.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
