English language learners substitute teacher

Our program is set up this fall in four levels: Basic through Level 3/4. Each class averages 12-15 students each night. We work from a series called Ventures, which comes with a very thorough teacher manual designed to be used by someone with no teaching background or by an experienced teacher, either one. Our students are adults who are making major sacrifices to attend, either working full time or with young children or both, and they are determined, optimistic and inspiring to all of us who are involved in the program. We have a lot of fun too! We have childcare for the kids and we take a socializing/networking break for 15 minutes at 7 PM. We would love to increase the number of volunteers who can fill in when teachers must miss class, and it would be great if interested volunteers want to participate as an assistant so they get the hang of it. We are very flexible and grow with the talents of each new person who joins us. We hope you will be one of them!
