Description
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers will work with students in grades K–5 or 6–8 on a one-on-one basis or in small groups. Support may include answering questions on academic subjects and helping students better understand course material.
- Academic Support: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Enrichment & Crafts: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
During the summer, there will be occasional field trips. Volunteers may choose to participate as chaperones.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and varying skill levels
- Patience, positivity, consistency, and friendliness
- Enthusiasm for learning and helping students discover their own interests
- Willingness to encourage and demonstrate understanding
